The indisputable semi-marked weight champion Dmitry Bivol (24-1, 12 KO) has been officially ordered by the WBC to defend his belt against the mandatory David Benavidez below.
This movement puts Bivol in a position in which he will decide if he will face Benavés (30-0, 24 kos) to maintain his WBC belt or evict so he can face the former undisputed champion Artur Beterbiev in the trilogy game that Turki Alalshikh, according to the reports, is interested in succeeding later.
Order: Bivol vs. Benavidity
Ring magazine reports That the president of the WBC, Mauricio Sulaiman, affirms that the World Boxing Council has “officially ordered” Bivol to defend against Benavidez. If Bivol wants to keep his belt, he must defend himself against Benavidez. It is as simple as that.
Bivol could pay ‘the Mexican monster’ Benavész one step aside. It would have to be a good part of money for him to accept that Bivol avoids it because it makes more sense for him to fight. It is useless for David to continue waiting, letting Bivol and Beterbeiv play two squares for years.
None of his fights has been entertaining to monitor fans, who like action. Bivol runs around the ring, and Beterbiev looks slow, old and tired. The two are boring. The best things for fans are that Benavidez fights against Bivol and ends his short reign so that the new blood can take charge.
Fans are tired of seeing Bivol and Beterbiev fighting. They want Benavidez, 28 years old, to receive his shot because he won it after defeating the ‘regular’ AB champion David Morrell February 1. Benavidez is Krtonite For Bivol’s struggle style with the way he presses without stopping, throws fast combinations, cuts the ring well and never gets tired.
All things that allowed Bivol to succeed against Artur Beterbiev would not work against Benavidez. The promoter of Bivol, Eddie Hearn, is aware of that, so he is not anxious for Benavide to have the opportunity to fight him. Hearn said he wants one of these options for the next bivol fight:
- Canelo Álvarez – Revancha
- Artur Benerbiev
- Callum Smith
That is the greatest and best struggle for Benavidez. If you take the step aside, there is a good possibility that Artur Beterbiev defeats Bivol in his trilogy. He already beat Dmitry once, and was close to defeating him for the second time in his rematch on February 22 of last month, losing a majority decision of 12 rounds. The judges scored 115-113, 116-112 for Bivol and 114-114. However, the fight seemed a draw. The judges worked Artur.
