The OMB has ordered the heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (23-0, 14 kos) to face the head of the Joseph Parker’s interim belt (36-3, 24 kos) below. The two have one month (30 days) to assemble an agreement to average a bag offer with the sanctioning body.
Usyk choice
It will depend on Usyk, 38, determine if you want to face Parker or concentrate on a more lucrative game that people are interested in seeing.
Parker has rebuilt his career with recent victories over a 310 pounds and two oldest heavy pesos, Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang.
The New Zealand Parker had been scheduled to challenge the FIB champion, Daniel Dubois, last month on February 22 in Riad, but Dubois retired with a disease. That would have been a very difficult fight for Joseph to win because Dubois is at his best and young man.
Parker has a boring struggle style and his personality does not seem to excite fans to see him. If Usyk faces it, many fans will transmit this fight if it is sold in PPV. Without a big billboard, Usyk-Parker is a mediocre fight.
Fans would prefer to see Dubois, WBC champion and the WBR and the OMB, face Dubois for the undisputed championship instead of Parker. It is seen as the next best heavyweight in the division next to Usyk.
The two would be an excellent fight. If Usyk wins his fight with Parker, he can still face Dubois in a rematch if that is a game that interests him.
Usyk comes from consecutive victories about Tyson Fury, and is looking to overcome. He sent Fury to retirement with his recent victory over him on December 21 in his rematch last year.
Parker has to make the most of this opportunity because he has taken him seven years after losing his OMB title in 2018 against Anthony Joshua.
